Coming Out of Hibernation (Or are you tempted to stay there?)
A New Year, A New Rhythm đ

If you go too fast, you overload your abilities and they degrade. Slowness nurtures attention.
Dear friends,
Firstly, thank you for joining us here. Each week, more and more of you arrive into this little portal of reflection and it is a truly wonderful thing to know there are so many humans walking this path of growth, selfâcompassion, and curiosity for doing things differently. What I share here is for you, for free. Take what resonates, share what may help another, and leave what isnât for you right now.
If youâve felt slow to start this year, or unsure how to begin again, youâre not behind. Youâre in rhythm with the cycles around us and more in tune than you realise. This moment in nature holds a silent growth and preparation. Busy preparing the soil beneath rather than rushing to bloom.
Whether you celebrate the festive season in December at all, itâs hard to be separate from the energy that surrounds December and January. At a time when nature nudges us inward; to reflect, to restore, to nurture; society and media often pressure us to come out, be bigger, bolder, and more present than ever in a hundred different ways. I often find itâs a time when sadness, grief, and loss can rise to the surface, brought into sharp focus by the joyful moments and bright celebrations that shine in stark contrast.
Itâs no wonder many of us find this time of year exhausting. Expectations about what we should do; and how we should feel; create a pressure cooker around an already tender moment on the calendar. Winter is a time when itâs natural to feel more vulnerable to emotions and more susceptible to illness. Shorter days mean less sunlight, which can lower serotonin and vitamin D; both linked to mood and immunity. No wonder we feel more tender; our bodies are quietly recalibrating. During this time, it becomes all the more important to doubleâdown on the things that keep us well; the anchors of good health; and to keep our boundaries strong to protect our energy so we have enough left to begin the coming year with our bodies and souls intact.
I will not let my future go on, without the help of my soul.
